The Mississauga Naakinagewin Project will be meeting on March 6 at the Alderville Community Centre from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Alderville members are encouraged to attend. The sessions will be about 5 hours in length. The first part will be an introduction to the concept of Indigenous laws and what kind of information we may be discussing. That will go until lunch, which will be served. Afterwards, those in attendance will break out into small groups and brainstorm/discuss instances of community laws that relate to governance or dispute resolution. Participants will be invited to the March 23/24 session to review the information gathered at all of the community sessions. Then there will be a discussion about methods of implementation in band governance.
